Job Summary:
We are on the lookout for an Acquisition Sourcing Specialist with a keen eye for identifying distressed businesses with untapped potential. Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), this role is pivotal in sourcing, evaluating, and initiating engagements with potential acquisition targets facing operational or financial difficulties. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of financial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to see beyond immediate challenges to envision long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Target Sourcing: Proactively identify distressed businesses across various industries that align with Carmichael & Russ Capital’s investment criteria and turnaround strategy.
- CIO Collaboration: Maintain a close working relationship with the CIO, providing regular updates on potential targets, industry trends, and market opportunities for distressed assets.
- Negotiation and Engagement: Initiate discussions with potential targets, leveraging negotiation skills to explore acquisition possibilities under favorable terms.
- Comprehensive Due Diligence: Conduct or coordinate thorough due diligence to understand the underlying causes of distress and assess the feasibility of a successful turnaround.
- Market and Financial Analysis: Analyze market trends, financial statements, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for value creation in distressed businesses.
- Performance Benchmarks: Meet or exceed established benchmarks related to the number of deals sourced, due diligence processes initiated, and successful acquisitions.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: Competitive, reflecting the high impact and specialized nature of this role.
- Deal Closure Bonus: Attractive bonus structure for each successfully closed acquisition, rewarding direct contributions to the strategic revitalization of distressed assets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in identifying and evaluating distressed businesses, with a strong preference for candidates who have facilitated successful turnarounds.
- Solid understanding of financial analysis, restructuring strategies, and value creation in turnaround contexts.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of conducting comprehensive due diligence and market analysis.
- Highly motivated and self-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
